Tricks for Treats

Course Description:
TotalDog Tricks for Treats is where training meets creativity! This five-week course is designed for dogs and handlers who want to have fun while building communication, confidence, focus and a whole toolbox of impressive tricks.
​
We’ll explore everything from classic tricks and body-awareness exercises to shaping, targeting, prop interaction, trick combinations and creative problem-solving. Dogs will learn to offer behaviors, think through challenges and work with their handlers in new and exciting ways.
​
Whether your dog is brand new to trick training or already has a few tricks under their collar, we’ll adapt activities to each team’s experience and abilities. Along the way, we may even explore skills that can be used toward AKC Trick Dog titles!

Come for the treats. Stay for the tricks. Leave with a dog who thinks learning is the best game in town!

Successful completion of TotalDog Foundations (or instructor approval).

Holiday Hounds

Course Description:
TotalDog Holiday Hounds prepares your dog for the excitement, distractions and occasional chaos that come with the holiday season!
From trick-or-treaters and costumes to Thanksgiving dinner, visiting family, holiday decorations and presents under the tree, we’ll work on the practical skills that help dogs remain calm, responsive and successful during busy celebrations.

Throughout five weeks, we’ll work on door manners, polite greetings, place/settle skills, impulse control, leave-it, working around exciting distractions, calmly navigating unusual sights and sounds, and maintaining good manners when the household gets a little… hectic.

This isn't about making your dog perfectly behaved in a quiet training room. It’s about preparing them for the real-world situations they’re actually going to encounter during the holidays.

Because your dog deserves to enjoy the holidays, too—and you deserve to enjoy them without constantly wondering what your dog is getting into!

TotalDog Foundations

Course Description:
TotalDog Foundations is designed to help dogs and their humans build the skills, communication and relationship needed for successful everyday life together.
​
We’ll focus on the fundamentals that every dog can benefit from—including engagement, attention, basic obedience, impulse control, recalls, leash skills, polite greetings and practical real-world manners.

Rather than simply teaching a list of commands, we’ll focus on helping dogs understand how to work with their handlers, make good choices and remain connected even when distractions are present.

This course is an excellent next step from Puppy-Level for dogs and handlers looking to establish a strong training foundation, brush up on the basics or build greater reliability before moving into more specialized TotalDog courses.

FALL Into Fun

Course Description
TotalDog FALL Into Fun is our ultimate fall sampler for dogs and handlers who want to try a little bit of everything!
​
Each week will bring a new challenge as we explore a variety of activities including tricks, canine fitness, Rally, freestyle, parkour-inspired skills, body awareness, creative obedience and other fun dog-sport-inspired activities.
​
This course is all about discovering what makes your dog light up while building confidence, coordination, communication and teamwork along the way. Some activities may challenge your dog physically, some mentally, and others will simply make you both laugh.
​
No previous experience in dog sports is necessary. Activities will be adapted for individual dogs based on their abilities, experience and comfort level.
​
Five weeks. Five opportunities to try something new. One very FUN way to FALL into your next adventure!

No formal sports training is required.

Country Canines
Start Date: Thursday October 8th

Course Description:
TotalDog Country Canines brings the fun of working-dog activities to Erie! This unique five-week course gives dogs an opportunity to explore their natural instincts through a variety of scent, search and field-inspired activities.
​
Teams may explore introductory shed hunting, blood-tracking foundations, Happy Ratters, scent searches, article searches, retrieving, directional skills and other working-dog challenges.
​
No hunting experience is required, and your dog does not need to be a traditional hunting breed. These activities are designed to provide mental enrichment, build confidence and teach handlers how to appropriately channel their dogs' natural desire to sniff, search, track and problem-solve.
​
Activities will be adapted to the available environment, weather and individual dogs, with an emphasis on safe, productive and FUN learning.
​
If your dog thinks their nose is their greatest superpower, this is the class for them!
​

TotalDog Holiday Hounds is your dog's crash course in surviving the holiday season with their manners intact!
​
Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas bring a LOT of excitement into our homes—and dogs don't always understand why the rules suddenly change when the doorbell starts ringing, strange people arrive, food is everywhere and decorations mysteriously appear.
​
In this five-week practical manners course, we'll work on door manners, polite greetings, settling around guests, costumes and unusual sights, impulse control, leave-it, food manners, holiday decorations, gifts and other real-world distractions.
​
We'll focus on skills you can actually use at home rather than simply practicing obedience in a quiet training environment.
​
Whether your biggest challenge is the dog who loses their mind over the doorbell, the counter-surfer who thinks Thanksgiving dinner belongs to them, or the enthusiastic greeter who believes every visitor came specifically to see them—Holiday Hounds will help you prepare!

Course Description
TotalDog Country Canines gives dogs an opportunity to tap into their natural instincts while exploring a variety of fun working-dog activities!

Across five weeks, teams will experience introductory shed hunting, blood-tracking foundations, Happy Ratters, scent-based searches, article searches, retrieving, directional skills and other field-inspired activities.
​
This course isn't limited to hunting dogs—and no previous experience is required. Our goal is to give dogs an appropriate outlet for natural behaviors like sniffing, searching, tracking, retrieving and problem-solving while teaching handlers how to work with those instincts rather than constantly trying to suppress them.
​
Depending on weather, daylight and the activity, sessions may take place indoors, outdoors or utilize a combination of both.
​
No hunting experience necessary. Just bring a dog who loves to sniff, search and figure things out!
​

TotalPuppy FUNdamentals

Course Description
TotalPuppy FUNdamentals is more than a traditional puppy obedience class—it’s about helping your puppy learn how to successfully navigate the world!
​
Through age-appropriate games, training exercises, enrichment and real-world experiences, we’ll work on foundational skills including engagement, name recognition, recalls, impulse control, handling, polite greetings, leash skills, settling and more.
​
We’ll also focus on helping puppies develop confidence, appropriate social skills and the ability to think through new situations with their humans.
​
This six-session course is designed to support the skills required for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program while giving puppies and their people plenty of opportunities to learn, play and build their relationship.
​
Because puppy training should be FUN—not just a list of things your puppy isn't allowed to do!
​
Prerequisites:
For puppies typically under 9 months of age.

Puppies must not reach 1 year of age by the final course session.

TotalDog TeamWorks

Course Description:
Invitation Only — No Public Enrollment

TotalDog TeamWorks is a specialized, invitation-only course designed for select dog-and-handler teams who have demonstrated the reliability, commitment and teamwork necessary for this unique training opportunity.
​
Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an invitation.
​
Participants will be personally selected and invited by Meraki Canine LLC based on specific criteria related to training history, reliability, teamwork, behavior, handler commitment and overall suitability for the course.
​
This is not a course that owners may request to join or request an invitation to. There is no public registration or application process.
​
The full curriculum, expectations and description of the specialized TeamWorks program will be disclosed only to teams who are selected and invited to participate.
​
If you receive an invitation, you'll receive all of the information you need before deciding whether to accept your place in the course.
​
Prerequisites:
Dog must have earned their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) at minimum.

Dog and owner must have trained with Meraki Canine LLC for at least 6 months, OR the owner must have previously trained another dog with Meraki Canine LLC.
Â
Additional selection criteria established by Meraki Canine LLC must be met.
