Professional Dog Training Built for Real Life
At Meraki Canine, training is more than obedience — it’s development.
We build clarity, communication, and confidence so dogs and their owners can thrive beyond the classroom.
Headquartered in Cochranton, Pennsylvania, with select training programs offered in Erie through Lucky Dog Stay & Play, Meraki Canine proudly serves Northwest Pennsylvania with structured, relationship-based training built for real-life success.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Training Rooted in Structure & Understanding
We believe better behavior begins with stronger connection. Our approach focuses on trust, communication, and mutual understanding — helping dogs learn not just what to avoid, but what to do.
Rather than chasing quick fixes, we build reliable behaviors through thoughtful guidance, clear expectations, and purposeful practice in real-world environments.
By understanding the “why” behind behavior, we tailor every program to the unique partnership between dog and owner — creating confident, capable teams prepared for everyday life.
Our training programs are built around our TotalDog Development Program—a structured, real-world approach designed to help dogs and their owners grow through every stage of training.
Whether you’re joining us in our Canine Development Courses (CDC) or working one-on-one through our Personalized Canine Development Programs, each offering follows a clear path focused on confidence, communication, and real-life reliability.
REAL-WORLD TRAINING
Because Life Doesn’t Happen in a Quiet Room
We train where life happens.
Parks. Sidewalks. Downtown spaces. Pet-friendly Stores. Public settings.
A dog who listens in a distraction-free room is a good student.
A dog who listens in the real world is truly trained.
Our programs are intentionally designed to challenge dogs appropriately, building focus, reliability, and emotional stability no matter the environment.

LEADERSHIP & EXPERIENCE
Founded in 2012
Meraki Canine began as a one-woman dream in 2012, when founder Hannah Adams launched Down Home Dog Training, LLC at just 19 years old after graduating Penn Foster Career School (where she earned her Dog Obedience Trainer/Instructor career diploma). What started as a humble, heart-led training service has grown into a trusted resource for relationship-based dog training in Northwest Pennsylvania.
In late 2025, Down Home Dog Training evolved into Meraki Canine, a rebrand chosen to better reflect the heart, intention, and care poured into every dog and human team we work with. Our focus remains the same: clear communication, thoughtful structure, and real-world training that lasts.
Hannah’s experience spans veterinary settings, humane organizations, boarding facilities, dog sport competitions, and advanced certification programs. She is an approved AKC evaluator, AKC judge, DMWYD evaluator/instructor, and a K9 Evaluator for Therapy Dogs United, and she continues to expand her education to better serve her clients, her community, and the dogs at the center of it all.

Where Should We Start
Puppies under 1 year old
Our group classes are a wonderful way to build early social skills and confidence. If you would like more focused attention in your own home, we can easily add private sessions into the mix.
Dogs with big feelings
If your dog struggles with fear or reactivity, we start with a thoughtful consultation. This helps us ensure everyone stays safe and allows us to create a compassionate plan for your dog's success.
Still wondering which way to go
Please reach out and tell us your story. We will listen to your goals and help you find a starting point that feels right for both you and your canine companion.
Good to Know
Young pups can often dive straight into classes or training without needing a consult.
Please note that our calendar and locations shift between Cochranton and Erie depending on the season, and rates may vary slightly based on travel and facility needs.
We always strive to keep our training accessible and clear for our community.
If you are ready to start this journey or just have a few questions, send us a message through Paw Partner. We cannot wait to meet you and your dog.
